Turning $40 into $845 in Less Than Four Hours.

I told you it was rigged and I told you how to make it work in your favor. In my post “The Bible of Rigged Online Poker” (you can find it below or in the archives) I told you that you have to stay away from a site for 1 month. After you return, you will have the day of your life. Well, I did just that. And… AGAIN, I came up big.

I also told you that once you win big like this, if you choose to cash out you MUST cash out EVERYTHING or you will lose the remainder within minutes. Therefore, I did cash everything out and I am now officially up for the year.

So… Blukkake Poker friends (you know who you are) after a horrible start of the year at my Saturday home game, this officially puts me up $350 for the year.

Now, I have to wait 1 full month before redepositng at Ultimate Bet. At that time, I promise I will post again and I guarantee I will have a big day again.

OFF TO FULL TILT FOR A MONTH!

$400 from Full Tilt

I’d like to say thanks to all those who were playing at Full Tilt from about 5am to 6:30am on Saturday morning and contributed to my Christmas gift fund. It was nice to put in $50 and take out almost $400 in little more than 90 minutes. Also, in addition to the $120 I took off Ultimate Bet on Wednesday it will make for a nice Christmas.

Ya ya, i know, it’s not a lot but considering I haven’t won anything online in a couple months it felt kinda good.

Merry Christmas.

One Player Per Hand

I would like to get your opinion on this matter. This is an issue that has come up more than once in my home game and one that I’ve made very clear my thoughts on. However, I would like the readers to comment and let me know what their thoughts are on this particular situation.

On at least 3 occasions, one particular player at my home game has advised another player during a hand on how he should proceed with the hand. For example, I go all in, and this third party advises my opponent to “call, he doesn’t have anything” or “you HAVE to call , you have pot odds”. I’ve made it very clear that this was not acceptable and that in a “CASINO” it is against the rules.

Does anyone out there know if such a rule exists or is it simply common poker etiquette? Please comment with your thoughts.

Las Vegas here I come.

I’ll be in Vegas at 9am PST and won’t be back in Austin until Thursday. Wish me luck. POKER POKER POKER POKER POKER!

A Letter from the Poker Player’s Alliance

As you may already know, the U.S. Congress approved an online poker prohibition late Friday evening. The ban was snuck into the Port Security Act during a back room deal and following extensive political strong-arming by the Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) and the Speaker of the House, J. Dennis Hastert (R-IL). This tactic discouraged debate on the bill and allowed it to pass without any public discussion. Why a poker ban was included in the Port Security Act is beyond me and most poker players and should be of concern to every American. It was a “bad beat” but we are still at the table.

This is no time to panic, but rather we must learn and build from this loss. The Poker Players Alliance is not leaving the fight, although now it is going to take an even greater effort from poker players and our organization to achieve our objectives.

What do we want to do now?

Poker Exemption

We continue to demand that poker receive separate treatment from other forms of gaming. It is a game of skill, where performance is merited, and a community game, where the house is not your competition. These are real and significant differences. Our desire is to achieve the same type of exemption from legislation that other interests have received (Horseracing, Lotteries, and Fantasy Sports). We will continue to push forward to obtain this separate treatment when Congress comes back from the elections and into the next legislative session. Between now and when the new bill becomes effective (3 to 6 months) poker has an opportunity to achieve the same exemption. This is our most immediate short-term goal.

License, Regulate and Tax

Regulation is the best public policy solution for both the federal government and the American poker player. Prohibition of on-line poker will only drive the game underground and build distrust and misunderstanding amongst the 70 million Americans who enjoy the great game of poker. I spent the better part of the year engaging members of the House and Senate about the idea of regulating Internet poker. This has raised interest from both Democrats and Republican’s alike. There has even been legislation introduced that seeks to establish a Congressional commission that would examine the best way to regulate this industry. Early this summer the PPA commissioned an economic analysis of the potential tax revenue that could be raised through regulation. Members of Congress have been receptive to this study and the $3.3 Billion that could be raised annually for the federal government. This is our ultimate goal and the PPA will drive this ag! enda.

What should you do know? First, every member of the PPA should be registered to vote in the upcoming state and federal elections. If you are not yet registered there is still time, click here to find out about how to register in your state. https://ssl.capwiz.com/congressorg/e4/nvra/ Second, be sure to vote on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 7th. We must put our vote where our voice is and establish a poker voting block. While the Port Security Act which included the prohibition legislation was passed near unanimously in both the House and the Senate, the House did have a clean vote on the poker prohibition in July. A list of how House members voted in July is available on our Web site too, click here. Finally, the PPA needs your help to spread the word about our organization. Please tell at least nine friends who might not know about the Poker Players Alliance to join the fight. We need to be 1 Million strong going into 2007.

Very soon a brief analysis of the Internet Gambling Prohibition Amendment will be posted on our website. Please return to www.pokerplayersalliance.org soon so you can learn how this legislation will affect you.

Again, I want to thank you for your support, and hope that you will continue that support as the Poker Players Alliance enters the next level of commitment. This is not over.

Regards,
Michael Bolcerek

Unfortunately, I told you so…..

What does the new law mean? A ban on online gambling for US players means a drastic reduction in revenues for the online poker sites. That means, less WSOP satelite tournies and winners, as well as less advertising/sponsership money. That means, less players at WSOP, less corporate sponsership, less TV, less everything.

Go out and build your poker tables now folks. Because real soon, your only poker will be in the garage or during your occassional Vegas, Louisiana, Atlantic City, or Reno vacation.

The Real World Series of Poker

I recently came upon some old World Series of Poker videos from years past. I saw 1973, 1977, 1978, 1983 and a few others. I highly recommend that EVERYONE watch these videos for a variety of different reasons. The first one I watched, not sure which year it was, was a very grainy video but still color. There were only 13 players that year. The tournament included Puggy Pearson, Doyle, Amarillo Slim, Johnny Moss, and Jack Strauss …among a few others….

Why was it so great? It was old Vegas! There was smoke in the air. There weren’t 8,000 players. At this time, Jack Binion was even table side giving the players insurance odds when they went all-in. That would be unheard of today.

Every one of these players had character and an interesting story.

It just feels like the poker world as we know it today is going to implode. It’s too big. Nothing can withstand that kind of growth without destroying itself. I can almost feel scandal in the air as if it is right around the corner.

Many of you already know my suspicions about online poker. I think it’s rigged to a degree. Ya ya, I know a lot of you think im full of shit but based on all of the things that I’ve seen with my own eyes in addition to my “gut” feel, I’ve come to my own conclusion that I think it is rigged. However, I don’t feel that this keeps me from playing online poker. As a matter of fact, I feel it helps me because I feel like I can make my knowledge work against the poker sites. For now, let’s forget about my suspicions of online poker. I’ll address that with more evidence and food for thought when I actually have time to sit down and right down all of my conclusions (as well as reference reputable sources that have the same suspicions that i have).

Another thing that worries me are rumors of widespread cheating in live poker . I am currently reading In this book, the author devotes an entire chapter interviewing a well-known poker cheat. A few of the points that the cheat brings up:

  • Casinos have never busted a poker cheat (because they don’t care if people cheat each other as long as they don’t cheat the casino) . They focus on games like black jack, table games, and slots because those cheats are actually taking money from the casino.
  • There are well known poker players that participate in collusion.
  • There are well known poker players that pay the buy-in for several players during tournaments so that those players can feed chips to the benefactor throughout the tournament. T.J Cloutier even agrees in the book that this is a factual statement.
  • There is collusion and card cheats at every level of poker and at every venue.
  • Online poker is rigged (see , im not the only person).. He states that you will notice that players will win when they first open accounts and after a certain amount of time they lose it all plus more back to the online site. The card cheat says he has tested this theory out by creating his own boiler room (several players located in the same network accessing the poker site via different networks so they can collude against the rest of the table).
He states online poker is also rigged using bots which lose a certain amount of money each hour. Even though you may be beating the bot, you are payin an outrageous amount of rake each hour where after many hours of play you losing a far greater amount than you would at a live venue. The bots basically allow you to play and play back and forth until your table roll is diminished from rake.
  • He also states that marked cards have frequently been used in the WSOP. He states that the last Stu Ungar victory was as a result of marked cards and that the blue sunglasses he wore where specifically to see the marked cards.
  • He states that Stu Ungar was murdered and did not die as a result of a self induced overdose.

Now, can you believe everything that a self-proclaimed “card cheat” says? Certainly not. However, is it possible that some of the things he says are true? Sure. Again, even T.J Cloutier (someone who has actually met a dinosaur) confirms that at least one of this guy’s stories is true.

I guess the main point I was trying to make, before I got off into the cheating thing (AGAIN)… is that if we don’t do something to slow this thing down the train just might run off the track. When I watched those old videos of the WSOP I thought how great it would be to be a part of this thing back then. Back when there wasn’t a cover over Fremont, when Binion’s was the place to be for a poker player. Back when Binion’s was the Horseshoe. You didn’t have to beat 8000 people to become a legend, you just had to beat the VERY BEST players in the world. There weren’t many, but they were damn good.

What can be done to get back to those days of poker? Probably nothing. The online sites generate so much money that they have taken control of everything. Poker doesn’t belong to poker players anymore, it belongs to PokerStars.com and Partypoker.com.

One suggestion, make the entry fee $100,000. Not even this price will keep out the thousands of amateurs because the online sites will just add extra satellites and people will just have to win an extra tourny or two to qualify. However, it will probably help the cream rise to the top. The best pros would be able to play and not be lost in the crowd of shit that is the world series today.

As far as I’m concerned, the HORSE tourny at this years WSOP was like that of years past. The final table was legendary… filled with the best of the best. It cost $50k to play…. and that did the trick, there weren’t 8000 players.

Just food for thought.

Do your part to keep your right to play poker online.

Turning $30 into $630 in just over 2 hours

The hand to the left was the laft hand in my 2 hour session this morning. My titan name is Superfinger.

I still think it’s rigged! But thanks to the guy with the AK who just paid for my Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Elite Pro and a flat screen 19′ monitor to be determined later.
