Will Sexton needs OUR help

Austin icon Will Sexton (brother of Charlie Sexton) recently had a stroke and needs some help. A donation page has been set up and if you know of Will Sexton (or even if you don’t) I hope you can help out. Even $5 helps! Several years ago I watched a program on one of the Austin Access channels and it was a singer/songwriter roundtable type deal… there were 3 guys up on stage all just playing guitar and taking turns playing their songs. Will Sexton, Johnny Goudy, and another guy I can’t remember (but he was REALLY good) really sparked the fire for me wanting to pick up my guitar again and play some music.

About a year later I think Will put out a great CD and I quickly got online and ordered it. One day, out of the blue I was at 7 11 getting some gas and right next to me pumping gas was Will Sexton. Luckily I still had that CD in my car and he happily signed it.

So, I’d like to give back… and I hope you can too.

I support Barack Obama

Hi,

I just took the next step towards owning a piece of the political process; I made a donation to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.

But it’s going to take more than just me and the others who’ve acted so far.

It’s going to take a movement. It’s going to take millions of people to beat back the avalanche of dollars from Washington lobbyists and special interests, who are planning to spend more money than ever to try to own our political process and dictate our policies in Washington.

We’re not going to play that game.

Barack Obama is not taking any contributions from Washington lobbyists or political action committees.

We’re going to transform the political process by bringing together hundreds of thousands of ordinary Americans in a campaign that’s owned by no one but the people.

Will you join us by making a donation?

C’mon people! $5 isn’t going to break you!

Hey folks, if you can spare even $5 please do…. it’s not life changing money to most of us but does more than you think to help children suffering from Type 1 Diabetes.

Support Tom Meny in the 2007 Walk to Cure Diabetes

Greetings!

I’m writing to you to ask for your support in a very special cause.

This year, I’ll be taking part in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Walk to Cure Diabetes along with a half-million other walkers across the country. Our goal: To raise $100 million to help fund research for a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications.

As some of you know, earlier this year I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes (sometimes known as “adult onset” diabetes) and therefore this cause is personally important to me.

Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating, often deadly disease that affects millions of people–a large and growing percentage of them children.

Many people think type 1 diabetes can be controlled by insulin. While insulin does keep people with type 1 diabetes alive, it is NOT a cure. Aside from the daily challenges of living with type 1 diabetes, there are many severe, often fatal, complications caused by the disease.

That’s the bad news… and yes, it’s pretty bad.

The good news, though, is that a cure for type 1 diabetes is within reach. In fact, JDRF funding and leadership is associated with most major scientific breakthroughs in type 1 diabetes research to date. And JDRF funds a major portion of all type 1 diabetes research worldwide, more than any other charity.

I’m writing to ask for your support because now more than ever, EACH of us can be a part of bringing about a cure. Each of us can make a real difference

Won’t you please give to JDRF as generously as you’re able? From the links below you can donate as little as $5. Every dollar counts.

Together, we can make the cure a reality.

Thank you,

Tom Meny
