A girl I went to high school with is up for the “25 Hottest Hooters Girls” magazine edition. Although she hasn’t worked for Hooters for many years she is still on the Hooters.com website. She’s moved on to bigger and better things now, but her legacy lives on. Show Michelle some love and vote for her. … it all started out as an April Fool’s joke.. I have a friend in California who is a huge Justin Timberlake and Tito Ortiz fan. Every year I tell her that one of them has died. This year, I bumped it up another notch by creating a fake blog post and youtube video for both of them.

Then, I decided to kill off my buddy/coworker Zane Fielding as well…. eventually, I linked the Timberlake and Fielding stories together killing them both in a plane crash. Yes, I know, I am a horrible person for concocting such a hoax.. However, it was at first meant only to be seen by my friend April.

I started noticing a huge amount of web hits as a result of the youtube videos. So, in order to get shameless plugs to my other YouTube cover songs, I decided to include the music to one of my cover songs in the background of the videos, as well as display links to my sites.

Late last week and this weekend I deleted and reposted all the links several times as I was battling with the idea of bad karma…..

Then…. this morning, my buddy emails me up and tells me that Robin Quivers from the Howard Stern show was talking about how she believed Justin Timberlake was dead because someone had emailed her my story! Keep in mind, the Howard Stern Show is the ONLY thing I listen to on the radio. This was unbelievable news.

Sure enough, on the howardstern.com website, there is a link to my blog on Monday April 7th show recap.

I’m pretty excited about this one. This will be the third comedy show in a row that I’ve had a front row seat to (along with Artie Lange and Chris Rock). Normally I wouldn’t have much interest in a Don Rickles show. But after watching a recent HBO documentary on him, I’m very fortunate to get to see this show… especially in Vegas. Rickles is one of the last from the “Rat Pack” era and was in fact very close to Frank Sinatra. I think this will be the closest I’ll get to experiencing that old Las Vegas feel.

yes, he was in a “boy band”… However, he is probably the MOST talented of them all. This sounds like a mixture of Prince, Ron Isley and D’Angelo… good stuff. I’m also impressed that he actually plays an instrument.

I started piano lessons today. I’ve been wanting to do this for years. In preparation for starting to venture out and play some shows I decided I might as well expand my repertoire.

Many many years ago I took guitar lessons from Mike Williams at South Austin Music. Our paths crossed a few years ago and we have kept in touch. Nowadays, Mike teaches piano too.
