It was a great show on Saturday night and a fantastic turn out. I don’t think Flipnotics has EVER had that many people inside it.

My 15 minutes of fame

On Friday December 16, 2011 I had the honor of playing a song on the Dudley and Bob morning show here in Austin, TX on KLBJ FM. I won a Christmas Song contest with my cover of Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson’s “Winter Song”. They were extremely cool to me, put me at ease (as much as possible) and I had a pretty unbelievable day.

You can hear the podcast here: http://media.klbjfm.com/Podcasts/100/December_16,_2011_Pt_1.mp3

You can hear my mp3 of “Winter Song” that I submitted: http://tommeny.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/winter-song1.mp3

Thanks.

The last 2 days have been busy. Yesterday I concluded a succesful kickstarter.com compaign to fund my CD. Today, a cover song I recorded won the Dudley and Bob morning show Christmas contest.

I’m not sure what I did to deserve so many long-time loyal friends. My kickstarter.com campaign started 45 days ago and I was seeking $3000 to fund the recording of my first CD. Not only did we get the $3000, but we actually got $6000! MOST of the people that funded me are from my Facebook page which consists mainly of my high school classmates, old coworkers and my family. I just want to thank each and every person that pledged. I’m extremely honored that you would support this endeavor and I am going to work so hard to make sure that my CD is fantastic. Please know that I would not have been able to do this without you.
