Things I wish I knew before ordering DirecTV

NO HBO on Demand (they advertise they have on demand… and HBO on demand is what made me choose DirecTV over Dish..)
very few HD premium channels compared to AT&T Uverse AND Time Warner Austin (most the premium channels are in SD)
to upgrade from a HD receiver to a HD DVR (1 week after installation) it costs nearly $400
the Travel Channel is NOT in HD on DirecTV

There is no doubt in my mind, after the contract is over… we will be canceling.
